Better Life Behavioral Services of Central Florida is a partnership dedicated to providing superior Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in Lake and Sumter counties in Florida. Our practice focuses on the development of a plan to treat behavioral excesses and behavioral deficits using an ABA approach.  We employ an individualized approach that also helps families, guardians, and caretakers in their ability to assist kids and adults, with or without disabilities. This includes treatment for children/adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, developmental delays, normally developing children, and disabled adults that exhibit dangerous behavior.   Better Life Behavioral Services of Central Florida provides a focused and comprehensive treatment approach.  We will implement treatment plans and we will also provide training for parents/guardians and caretakers on implementation of the treatment plan to ensure success.

What Is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a behavioral health treatment that is based on the science of learning and behavior.  The use of direct observation, data collection and analysis, and functional assessment of the relationship between the environment and behavior are key components that are employed in an ABA approach.  A comprehensive assessment of the problem behavior(s) is completed and a treatment plan for behavior change is developed.   ABA treatment  is data-driven, individualized and has had a significant impact on the treatment of individuals with a wide range of disabilities and clinical needs.  ABA is a treatment philosophy that focuses on treating individuals that exhibit behavioral excesses and/or behavioral deficits. These excesses or deficits in behavior often prevent or limit attainment of their full potential, interfere with learning, and their ability to function independently. As such, an ABA approach involves treatment that produces socially significant changes and improvement in behavior. 

Successful ABA treatment, including increases in or restoration of the core deficits and decreases in or remediation of maladaptive or dangerous behavior exhibited by individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, has made ABA a standard in treatment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
