Better Life Academy

Mission Statement

We vow to work with our students to help them achieve success in academics and in life. Everyone learns differently, we teach to the child, not to the test.

About Our School

Since 2015, Better Life Academy has based its educational program on the belief that “if a child cannot learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn.” We work very hard to facilitate learning and to make their everyday lives BETTER.  We love to watch them grow. Effective individualized teaching methods and behavioral concerns are our specialties. Our ultimate goal is to help each student reach their highest potential and thrive in a healthy learning environment.

Active Learning Model

We strive to follow a high academic standard as a guide for the creativity and leadership of our teachers. Our objectives are individualized and are not set in stone. We make necessary educational revisions when appropriate for a student to learn. These revisions are developed in response to the latest research on educational innovations, theory and the science of Behavior.
Together with a scientific approach to behavior, our educational program provides additional learning opportunities for our students. We support transformative learning experiences at Better Life Academy.  Our teaching strategies are designed to help our students grow both in and out of the classroom. While learning is our primary focus, communication skills and social skills are practiced and reinforced every day.  Our teachers create a safe and open setting where they can help guide students in exploring the information and the world around them. Better Life Academy supports and guides the creativity and leadership of our teachers in the pursuit of a higher educational standard for our students.

Important Information

A parentally placed private school student with a disability does not have an individual right to receive some or all of the special education and related services that the student would receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

As per section 1002.421(2) Florida Statute, our teachers meet the requirements for instructors at a participating private school, they meet at least one of the following qualifications: hold a bachelors degree or higher, 3 years teaching experience at a public or private school, or special skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualifies the individual to provide instruction in specific subjects.

Better Life Academy teachers hold a bachelors degree or higher and/or have experience working with students with disabilities. All of our teachers are trained to assist with behaviors and work with struggling students. Many of our teachers are also Registered Behavior Technicians and work with student behaviors on a daily basis.
